VANCOUVER, BC / ACCESSWIRE / May 31, 2020 / GLG Life Tech Corporation (TSX:GLG) ('GLG' or the 'Company'), a global leader in the agricultural and commercial development of high-quality zero-calorie natural sweeteners, today provides an update with respect to the management cease trade order ('MCTO') issued by the British Columbia Securities Commission on May 15, 2020. The MCTO was issued in connection with the delay by the Company in filing its annual financial statements in respect of its year ended December 31, 2019, its management discussion and analysis relating to its annual financial statements, its Annual Information Form and the CEO and CFO certifications (collectively, the 'Required Documents').
The Company continues to work closely with its auditor and continues to expect to file the Required Documents no later than its previously disclosed date of June 12, 2020. The completion of the Required Documents was delayed by the Chinese government-mandated temporary shutdown of businesses, including the Company's manufacturing subsidiaries, and mandatory travel restrictions and quarantine periods earlier this year.
The Company is providing this status update in accordance with National Policy 12-203 - Management Cease Trade Orders ('NP 12-203'). The Company intends to follow the provisions of the Alternative Information Guidelines set out in NP 12-203, including the issuance of bi-weekly default status reports in the form of news releases, for as long as the Company remains in default. The Company confirms as of the date of this news release that there has been no material change in the information contained in the default announcement issued May 15, 2020, and there is no other material information concerning the affairs of the Company that has not been generally disclosed.
